Today, Thanksgiving, we were in North Africa in the city of Tunis in the country of Tunisia. My wife and daughter took a tour in town. I was on board teaching all day and so I could not go. My ship contacts told me in no uncertain terms I was NOT to allow them to go ashore on their own. So I put them on a tour. He told me that although Sammy does not have real blond hair it is really blond for them and someone would want to purchase her for camels.
I laughed it off.
They took the tour, went shopping and had fun. During the shopping some guy was trying to sell them a drum. They told him no several times and sure as hell, he finally offered to purchase my daughter from my wife for 9 camels.
She turned the offer down and stayed with the tour....well until they got lost and seperated from the tour. As luck would have it they ran into a guide from another tour from our ship and they got them back in the right group.
What Dad does not know until later is well...what dad does not know until later.
9 camels....You've got 2 be kidding me!
We are off to Malta!
